This could be Rowen's favorite place on earth! She is a true fish and was the last one out of the pool. She is so her father jumping off of these rocks. I have a picture of him jumping with the same face but I knew he would be mad at me for posting it so you will have to imagine or just picture her face on a man size body!

On our way home from my brothers wedding we stopped through Boise, ID to see Luke and Ailie Daniels and there little boy Kohen. Kohen and sawyer are about one month apart.

Rowen looked so pretty in her dress! But it didn't last long about five minutes after the wedding she was jumping in the jump house that was set up for the kids and stepped on the bottom of her dress. She completely ripped the bottom skirt part off of the top of the dress! Russ thought I was going to kill him but I was happy she made it through the wedding.

Rowen's 3rd Birthday

Ok I know Rowen was born in March and it is now May. A little late on the blog but life is flying right now and I'm just trying to keep my head above water! Everyone says these years are crazy and fast, I guess I never realized how true that really is!

Rowen had a double birthday party with her friend Madison. The theme was Tinkerbell so my mom made her a Tinkerbell outfit and of course she loved it. This is her trying it on for the first time.

Rowen's complete Tinkerbell outfit but we don't get a smile like Madison because my child refuses to look at the camera! Oh well.

The girls both got ballerina outfits for Christmas. Rachel bought one for Rowen and I couldn't resist buying one for Sawyer. As you can see they love them and especially love watching the nutcracker while wearing them. Rowen truly wants to be a sugar plum fairy and is actually pretty good at doing some of the moves. We will definitely be seeing the play next Christmas and I can't wait!

We spent Christmas at my parents house in Idaho. Rowen was the designated stocking opener and seriously opened everyones stockings- she loved it! Sawyer was the designated snack eater. I think she ate the entire container of puffs before morning was over!

(Russ is probably going to shoot me- oh well!) I just want to make clear that both Russ and my sweaters came from my mom who I actually remember wearing them! Christmas traditions

The girls had so much fun decorating the tree and I think it got redecorated just about everyday. Rowen thinks everything is more fun when you are wearing butterfly wings!

We started our Christmas book advent this year (which I adopted from a very creative friend Rachel Kroon). Rowen got to open a Christmas book every night before she went to bed. She loved reading the books and especially learning about Jesus!

Sawyer in her santa shirt and the advent tree that my mom made for the girls. Each pocket was hand made and had an ornament that Rowen got to color or paint everyday! They both loved it and were very sad when I took it down.

So I have been doing some serious slacking and haven't posted any of December's pictures! So get ready for a little step back in time! This is Russ carrying one daughter on the front and one on the back which is a regular occurance anytime we are hiking. It was a beautiful day with just enough so that Rowen could enjoy it but not have too much trouble walking.

We spent Thanksgiving at Rick and Nancy Daniels house with Russ' best friends from high school and their families. We had a great time running around with all of the kids and of course eating a lot of good food!This is all of the kids that were there: Sawyer, Rowen, Kohen, Ainsley, Haley, Peyton, Mea, and Bodie.

Auntie Heidie and cousin Kennedie came to visit for Sawyer's birthday. And of course we tried to get a picture of the three girls and of course it was nearly impossible! What were we thinking?

For Sawyers birthday the whole family went to the "Farm," a local petting zoo. Rowen was in HOG heaven! We barely walked through the doors and the next thing I know she is laying on a pig and then kissed him. She ran around that place like the roadrunner!

Rowen and Tayden met when they were only a few months old and have been good buddies ever since. We don't get to see them all that often but when we do they truly have the best time together. And yes as parents we are crossing our fingers that they will get married someday and we will have this great footage! But until then we will keep dreaming about the future.

Ocean with the Allreds

We took a little vacation at the end of August to a beach house that the Allreds so kindly shared with us. This beach house was on a cliff looking right out onto the ocean. It was gorgeous and the girls had so much fun!

Rowen could not get enough of the starfish, shells and basically anything that had to do with the ocean!

She loved this foam and ran through it a bunch of times coming out with seaweed green pants!

Sawyer spent most of the time in the backpack which she loves. Worked out well for everyone.

She named him this when Russ was gone a lot this summer, I guess I can see the close resemblance!!

This is our friend Matt Thomas who was in a mountain bike accident two weeks ago and injured his spinal cord. He is currently paralyzed from the nipple line down but is determined to walk again. He is at Providence Hospital and is undergoing intense physical therapy to help strengthen his body. Matt is a young fun loving guy who loves the outdoors and we need to get him back out there! Camping at Beverly Beach

Being from Idaho I never really got to spend very much time at the ocean so every summer I look forward to our trip to the beach. So we packed up the girls and talked Russ' brother and his family into coming to the beach with us. We camped at Beverly Beach which is near Newport. Above is Guster, Rowen and Russ enjoying the waves at the beach. Rowen of course ran straight into the water and was quickly shivering!

Sawyer loved the beach and especially eating the sand.

This is Sawyer's camo outfit that she wears at night and early in the morning. It was freezing at night!

We spent one morning at the Newport aquarium. Rowen LOVED it and Sawyer was actually pretty into it too. This is Rowen staring straight into the eyes of a fish.

This is one of the pools where you can touch starfish, sea urchins and sea anenomes. Rowen was timid at first but once she realized they wouldn't hurt her she was all about it. I had to keep my arms wrapped around her to keep her from joining the starfish in the water!

This is cousin Tali and Rowen in the aviary. It was pretty cool, a bird was taking a bath right in front of the girls.

This is Rowen an hour after playing in the sand. I'm not sure how she did this but we call in the Charlie Chaplin!

It was a beautiful day! And it did not rain once while we were there, truly amazing!

The day after the aquarium we had the opportunity to go tide pooling on a very low tide. It was gorgeous, I have never seen tide pools like this! Rowen was in heaven!

Here I am trying my best to hold her up because all she wanted to do was sit IN the tidepools and touch the starfish, etc. She kept saying, "more starfish please!"

I love this picture! Rowen was just so excited she couldn't take her hands out of the sand and spent a lot of her time in this position. It was so much fun! Thank you Ginny, Trevin and girls for a great trip. We look forward to next year.

The Red Car

Sawyer decided it was time to take the car for a spin and she loved every minute of it!

Rowen, of course, thought she needed to help Sawyer. "Go faster sissy!" she said.

Then she decided it was her turn to drive. Poor Sawyer never gets to do anything on her own. We shouldn't have any problems teaching her how to share.

And there they are smooshed in the car! Sawyer eating the steering wheel.

This is the next day when Russ was on daddy day care. This is a strategically placed car, yep she is naked! And this was only the beginning she proceeded to STAND NAKED on the top of the car and of course her father stood there laughing while taking pictures. Such a proud pose!

Russ decided to build two more raised beds for our garden this year and of course Rowen had to be right by his side. Notice the cowboy boots, a Rowen designed outfit!

She was actually a great little helper and had to do everything he did, including carrying the wood.

We went to the garden expo a few weeks ago and some nice lady gave Rowen a flower. Well she didn't know what a gift this was because Rowen loves flowers. So of course we went home and her father helped her plant it. She took this job very seriously!

She also loves to water which is an added plus when you have a plant.

Instead of picking the flower we have learned to smell the flower, i.e. the above demonstration.

This is supposed to be her proudest moment and she won't look at the camera! Oh well.

Rowen just loves to help and her new thing is picking up dog poop. Whenever Russ goes out to do this fun job she follows along with her little shovel.

She like everything else she does is very serious about it and does not want any help.

She actually does a pretty good job. Now if we could just get her to change her sister's diapers we would be set!!

Russ pumped up the raft to clean it and decided to let the girls try it out. Of course Rowen had to put on her life jacket to make it a true experience. This turned out to be a good thing as the life jacket provided extra protection when she decided to turn the raft into a jump house.

Finally calmed down for a picture. Hopefully she will get on the river for her first true rafting experience this summer.

This is how Rowen and Sawyer help with the laundry! Notice Rowen's nose, her father decided it would be a great idea to race to the car after church while Rowen was wearing her dress shoes. Needless to say she met the pavement with her nose and it left a good little mark!

Sawyer loves the swing already, it always brings and instant smile to her face.

I told Rowen to go get dressed because we were going "bye, bye." This is what she came out in! I about fell over laughing but quickly hid my smile as you could see she was very proud of this outfit and was waiting for my approval.

The girls and I flew home for a week to meet their new cousin Kennedie Noel Clare. She was born on March 18th and weighed 5#9oz. Uncle Travis and Auntie Kimber, aka Tia, also came home to visit.

We went to the park by the Coeur d' lene resort, it was huge and beautiful! Uncle and Rowen going down the slide.

So we've had a little bit of a dry spell on the blogging! We lost the camera for about three weeks and we're certain that Rowen had hid it somewhere. Then we thought I put it somewhere in my mindless cleaning but come to find out that my dear husband (who was certain that he had not put it anywhere!) had put it in his fishing bag and forgot about it! Anyways we have a little catching up to do so bear with us!

Rowen turned two on March 8th, so hard to believe that actual years have gone by now. Truly amazing how quickly time passes right before our eyes! So we had a party for her at a local fun center and bunch of her friends came to celebrate. It was quite crazy for the adults but I think the kids had fun.

Rowen's hair is finally growing... in the back! For some reason the top just won't grow so she is sporting a major CURLY mullet! Poor kid she is going to hate these pictures.

The good thing is that it is long enough to wear in ponytails and the front just looks like she has bangs. This is at the park in Ashland, she loves the slide.

Her hair even fits into one pony tail, it only took two years!

And when she is in a good mood and willing to sit we can do her hair like this. I did Russ' hair once like this in college!

Every year we take a trip on MLK weekend to Sunriver with our college friends from SOU (plus Al and Kacey!). This was our fifth year, crazy that it has already been that long! We started out with two married couples and now all four couples our married and there are three kids with one on the way!

Lewiston has a great park decorated with lights during the Christmas season and we decided to take the girls to see it. Rowen wasn't as excited as we thought she would be, maybe because it was right at her bedtime! But she did love ringing the bell on the train.

This was Russ' pose. Good try but all Rowen wanted to do was eat the candy cane and once she finally got it open she started rubbing it in her sister's hair.

They refuse to look at the camera at the same time! Sawyer looks like that big blob guy from Star Wars.

When they finally look at the same time they won't smile. Rowen is a happy child but she will not smile at the camera.

Russ and Rowen did this to Sawyer. So cute but her head looked huge on the Christmas card. So after many nights of picture taking we decided that a perfect picture with two little girls was impossible and settled on a random candid picture. Maybe next year!

This is Sawyer and I, yeah she is under my coat. My sister-in-law bought me the coolest coat that has an extension piece which allows you to carry the baby under the coat. It also has a hole in the back so that you can wear your baby on your back and still have them under your coat! Such a cool invention!

This is Rowen hiking on her own. She walked looking straight down at all of the things on the ground, we had some close calls because she wasn't watching where she was going. But all in all she did quite well.

This coat does not have the most slimming profile!! Sawyer slept the whole time we were gone, she likes it in her little cocoon.

Cousin Tali and Aunt Ginny came to visit for a few days (Uncle Trevin came too but of course they went fishing). I miss Aunt Ginny's burping abilities and how helpful it is to have an extra set of hands!! Sawyer did not cooperate for this picture.

So I'm posting pumpkin carving pictures in the middle of November-- just a little behind these days! This is Rowen not really sure if she should be happy about the fact that her papa just cut a hole in the pumpkin she had been carrying around for the last hour.

This is her face as she felt the gooey insides, she loved it! She pulled out all of the seeds and said MORE. So Russ let her clean out his pumpkin too.

This is her working really hard to get all of the seeds off the bottom of the pumpkin. Surprisingly none of the seeds went in her mouth, what a miracle!

Rowen loves to pick and eat the flowers. We are trying to teach her to smell them but she just smells them and then pulls the flowers off.

Her new obsession is orange slices with the peels on them. She eats every piece of orange off of the rind!

So we are in the process of transitioning from 2 to 1 nap and as you can see it has been a little rough! Rowen is quite wiped out by the end of the day. This happened the other evening, I was washing dishes and Rowen was supposed to be eating. As I turned off the water I heard a snoring noise and looked over to see Rowen in the first position (1st pic) and then shortly after she ended up in this last position (2nd pic). I quietly got the camera thinking I only had one shot at a picture but was quite surprised that she didn't even flinch from the flash. I took about ten pictures giggling to myself the whole time. She finally woke up as I was pulling her out of her chair- silly girl!

Meet the Newest Member of our Family!

In case you haven't heard the good news we are expecting another little one! Yeah, kind of crazy but we are really excited! If you couldn't tell by the color of the writing it is another little girl!! Russ is not sure what he is going to do with a house full of girls and is already dreading those "hormonal" teenage years! The baby is due October 14th which will make the girls about 19 months apart. My sister and I are 16 months apart and I love it, so hopefully they will love it too! As far as the pregnancy everything has come back normal with the baby and I have been feeling great- two huge blessings! But please keep us in your prayers as we wait for the arrival of the newest little Miller!!

This is Rowen's new stroller that she loves to push around with her baby. But she gets very angry when the she can't put the baby in the stroller just right and often throws the doll across the room!

Many different things get to ride in the stroller. This is her bear that Auntie Kimber made for her.

Rowen has discovered how to crawl on everything and I have even caught her standing on this basket- she is a wild woman.

One of Rowen's latest obsessions is putting things on her head. These are bloomers that go to a matching dress that she decided to pull out of the drawer and put on her head!

She ate every last bit of this cupcake and was even shaking the wrapper to get all of the cake off of it!
